Narrative

The video starts with close-ups of the three dancers panning to show the competition and act as if it is serious and play a part in warming the audience up for a dance competition. There is then the image of the population with the man in a costume, and people enjoying attention in front of the camera, which then tells the audience that the video is also about joy, also conveying the city life that is hectic and busy. Half-a-second shots are shown of the dancers to also warm the audience up of dancing and getting ready for a battle. Long shots of the dancers stretching additionally plays a part in this. The singer then performs the lyrics, and at the end of the verse shouts 'go with it Jam', which signals the beginning of the dancing, which then the song shows the diversity of dance and passion throughout the song. Dance routines are also shown to tell the audience about the unity that is formed through the three damcers being able to dance. At the end of the video, the shots are then fast, then ends with the main dancer with his arms out, which almost creates a religious symbol (Jesus dying on the cross), which is associated with Michael Jackson, showing power, indispensibilty and the feeling of a king.
