This is effective with the use of old fashioned paper, as it denotes the 'wanted' image that is known by the public suggesting the band is wanted. The use of musical instruments in the photograph tells us they are a band, along with the stage that becomes effective as it tells us they are performers. The relaxed layed back image is used to make people idolise them and almost create a easy going look. They also use quotes from other people which is original with a verdict with stars above them and information in the quote to promote and advertise their band making it unique and effective. They use their album cover which stands out so it can look recognisable and in bold writing has 'Debut album', which suggets to the audience that if you don't know them, give them a try.

This is an example of a very good poster in design, as it is meant to be this band in the sky, which looks like art and the togerthness of the people promoting what it's about. The fact that some people are bigger than other shows indispensibilty in the group, which we will use as there is a main role in our music video. The different colours of writing and the font tells us that this poster is fairly urban, and is aimed at a youth with bright colours and the poses of the people. Also the design of the dates, logo's and added information are effective and the title 'what's up' seems elliptical and creates an ellipsis, making the reader want to find out.
Editing
Editing seemed very difficult at the start and had a slow start to it, as we didn't know all of the effects and what to use for our video. Once we got in the hang of it it became very interesting. We used clips to go with the beat of our music using the markers and enlargement in final cut pro, we played with the motion and increased and slowed down the speed of our video, we changed clips to black and white played with noise etc. We also cut parts of our music to make it entertaining, e.g 'moonwalk', and we used the diting, the right colour balancing and also posterized clips. With the effects we changed the filters of the effects to make it fit into our video and changed the 'zoom-in zoom-out' to the main sequence of our music video aswell.
Audience feedback
Our audience feedback has been very important, as some people are not great fans of dancing, we had to put trademark dance moves and effects in to entertain as a whole rather than make it personal, for example dance moves such as the 'moonwalk' and 'James brown shuffling' is there clearly to entertain, along with some robotic moves. However dance routines are there for the techincal dance aspects and make it hit the genre of our video. Additionally the audience suggested that some of our shots were poor in quality, so we changed this by making an effect or changin the dance scene. Also we were told by our audience the irrelevant parts of our video that we had changed, as it might seem relevant to us it doesn't mean it is relevant to the audience. We had a pattern of compliments with parts of our video such as the 'moonwalk' and the 'James Brown shuffling' which is where we had drawn our conclusion from. Referring to the Digipak, we had been helped by audience feedback with making our images simple, but yet powerful and make it enjoyable with images of dancing.

Digipak analysis

We use a photograph of the three dancers holding hands looking down, with peaceful and powerful messages through it, showing unity and love. We use this as the inside of our cover. We also use an inside of a cover with a photograph of us with the two females' heads at the bottom and the main dancer in a pose. There is a crown with two baby angels holding a crown above his head, and words around his arm saying love, live and learn. This becomes powerful in the fact that it connotes love and power through the crown, and presents nature and a supernatural feeling of heaven through the two baby angels. Our album cover shows us all dancing and the main dancer on his toes. This is a trademark picture of Michael Jackson that is used. There are also spotlights on the three dancers showing power, presence and indispensibility, and also shows that we are the main part of the song. It helps sell the product as it gives a taste of the genre of the song, and the fact that we are all dancing shows the individuality of our group. As three of us are consistently shown, the audience will be asking who are we and will want to find out.
Challenging forms and conventions of real media products
Our video has been inspired through other videos with originality, either through semantics, performance or it being unique. For example videos such as 'Imagine' by John Lennon were effective through semantics in the video, it was disjuncture that was important in the video as John Lennon was talking about war, and he used his wife Yoko in his video opening curtainsh showing a hidden message. Videos from Prince were inspirational as he is a unique man himself, and dance moves such as splits, his high vocals and his costume was very inspirational. Our video became original through the unique dancing from the main dancer, the diversity of dance routines, the fact that Jackson 5 routines were used, James brown shuffling was used, Michael Jackson moves were used, Fred Astaire and Gene Kelly Tap dancing was used, and Ballet being seen in our video. Also the ideas from editing using effects to go with dance moves such as robot, for example changing the motion. The conventions for our music video was suppose to be modern street dance as we are three black people, but the contrast from the main dancer showing diverse dancing created a new theme and made our video original.
Performance
On performing aspects, our video becomes indispensible. As we have done a Michael Jackson video, we had to live up to his expectations of being unique and doing his dance moves. As from Michael Jacksons motown 25 Billie Jean performance, we have been inspred to perform. The trademark of his moonwalk is used in our video as it is for the fans to see and enjoy on Michaels perspective. Shuffling from James Brown was used just before the moonwalk in a silhouette in our video which was effective. Also in the verse, Fred Astaire tap dancing is also used effectively. Dance move from robot, to Michael Jackson dancing, to ballet in the routines are used to enhance our performance. The two girls perform and represented a theme of modern dancing in urban society, as they were inspired by dancing artists such as Ciara, Chris Brown, Jennifer Lopez, Beyonce etc. Lip syncing the first verse was also important as Michael Jackson performs his with a unique passion, which makes him the best and most successful in the music industry. The clutch of his mouth was impersonated in this video, along with his hand movements and rolling of the shouder. This passion of lip syncing can be seen in music videos such as 'Bad', 'They don't care about us', 'Smooth criminal' etc.
